Statements on relegation and future

Statement from Stoke City Supporters Branch Norway

Relegation release strong support and vital questions

Branch Norway will ensure Stoke City FC and fans all over about our continuous and strong support for the next and the following seasons.  We will be loud and proud, in Norway. We will keep up travelling and attending Stoke City and the area. We will continue the great cooperation with Tollgate Hotel, supporter groups and other partners involved. Basic, we never surrender!

The relegation after ten years in Premier League is a massive setback. Difficult times are in front. The economy will suffer, and the club has to deal with that. And also, Championship is a very tough league, with no free lunch or walk overs.

The club must restart, point out a new direction for the future, and move forward. We really appreciate the solid statement from the Coates family, published May 8th.  Crucial!

Branch Norway will remind what we have said in public and directly to the club over the last weeks and months:

Stoke City must bring back its identity, based on the history and area. Great fighting spirit and attitude, down to earth and passion in every sense from everyone involved. Not at least the players, they must be the hard working characters that Stoke-on-Trent relay on.

Lessons must be learned, about signings, structure and handling effort, and also other aspects that contributed to the relegation. The club must continue to communicate the results from this, and about the upcoming season, out to the supporters, in order to get as much unity and optimism back as possible.

When the relegation confirmed, we will also put forward the following:

The rescue operation failed, with one of the worst record of no winning ways ever, even if there were more enthusiasm, structure and some improvements. The new management inherited a lot of problems in January, but we will also ask Stoke City to consider if the 15 games flight at the end of the season has the progress and foundation to build on. And if so, what’s needed to add or further improve. There really is a lot on stake here.

Branch Norway will urge our members and fans, and also supporters all over not just to continue, but even strengthen the support for the club in the next years.

We are Stoke City, and We’ll be with You. No division limited. Championship here we come!

For Branch Norway
